The Royal Institution of Great Britain

Located in the heart of Mayfair, this Grade 1 listed venue provides a stunning and impressive backdrop for any event.

Ri Venue is based at the Royal Institution of Great Britain. Over the last 200 years, the Royal Institution has been home to eminent scientists whose discoveries have shaped the modern world. They understood how important it was to share their work with the wider public and as an independent science charity, our mission remains to harness science for the maximum benefit of society.

With a variety of stunning Georgian and contemporary rooms, it is the perfect blend of old meets new, reflecting the Royal Institution’s rich history and investment in the future. Perfect for all kinds of events; from 6 person meetings to conferences and receptions for up to 400 people.

Dedicated events management, hospitality and AV teams expertly bring together all the important elements of any successful event. There’s also the option to make your event truly unique with in-house science demonstrations or history tours.

All proceeds from Ri Venue are donated to support the charitable activities of the Royal Institution.

Enjoy 15% off all new venue hire bookings at the Ri this spring and summer

Did you know that the Royal Institution is 225 years old this year? Or that 15 Nobel Prizes have been won by scientists who worked or researched at the Ri, that the electric motor, and vacuum flask were invented here, or that the street they’re on was the first one-way street in the UK because of horse and carriage traffic chaos outside as so many people wanted to see Humphry Davy speak 200 years ago?!

With such a rich history to share and in celebration of their 225th birthday this year, the Ri is offering a 15% discount on venue hire fees for new bookings in April, July, or August 2024.

The Ri boasts nine different spaces available to hire. From conferences for up to 440 guests using the iconic Theatre and formal dinners and drinks receptions in beautiful heritage rooms, to smaller meetings and away days in versatile meeting spaces - a wide variety of events and guest numbers can be catered for at the Royal Institution.

By choosing the Ri for your event, you are helping to fund charitable work. Being a small independently funded charity, venue hire is a key part of the Ri’s income. Hosting your event will ensure another 225 years of science engagement.
